Taiwan's folk religion is truly remarkable - small temples every few steps, large temples everywhere, and many people even have personal shrines at home.
But this is the first time I've seen it directly integrated into a bubble tea shop! Located on Tainan's tourist-heavy Hai'an Road, while it blends in seamlessly, it's also incredibly eye-catching.
I noticed many foreign customers were particularly fascinated by this unique concept!
If you visit Tainan or bring foreign friends, beyond just bubble milk tea, this distinctive drink shop is a must-visit to surprise them!
Their drinks are actually quite good too.
I originally wanted milk tea but spotted an unfamiliar "flower barley tea" and decided to try it.
It's similar to herbal tea - perfect for cooling down inside and out during this sweltering summer!
If you don't mind herbal flavors, I highly recommend it, especially since it's caffeine-free! No worries about sleepless nights!

I was walking from my hostel on Hai'an Road toward Hayashi Department Store, contemplating which bubble tea to buy, when I spotted Fucheng Chengyi Tang.
The shop's exterior successfully caught my attention.
I had already passed by but decided to turn back for a closer look.
The shop is small but beautifully decorated in antique style.
With prominent signs advertising black tea and milk tea, there's no confusion about what they sell.
The ordering counter is particularly distinctive - designed like a traditional altar, extremely ornate.
There's a menu at the counter showing their limited selection: mainly black tea, winter melon tea, milk tea, and the unique flower barley tea.
A wooden-plank menu on the wall also caught my eye - its large size makes it hard to miss.
Flower Barley Tea (花麥茶) NT＄55
Wanting something cooling in the heat, and curious about this unfamiliar drink, I ordered it to try.
The first sip was unexpectedly herbal.
I expected stronger barley and floral notes, but it leaned more toward traditional herbal tea flavors.
With the recommended light sugar level, the taste was particularly pronounced.
Honestly, this flavor is subjective - those who like it will enjoy it, others might prefer the black or winter melon tea.
Beyond tea, they also sell crystal bracelets.
Customers waiting for drinks can browse for bracelets to enhance their energy or change their fortune!
Though for real fortune-changing, perhaps you should consult the enshrined deity!
Tired shoppers can enjoy their drinks on the long benches outside, creating a scene reminiscent of people gathering at temple courtyards to cool off with refreshing tea.
Overall, Fucheng Chengyi Tang is quite unique with decent drinks.
If you're visiting Tainan's Hai'an Road or bringing foreign friends, I highly recommend stopping by for a drink!
